Philippine Airlines Riyadh flights canceled until late November due to Middle East conflict
Philippine Airlines has extended the suspension of its flights to and from Riyadh following a series of deadly Houthi strikes near Saudi Arabia’s main airport.
According to the flag carrier, operations will remain suspended until Nov. 29 due to the security situation in the region.
"PAL continues to closely monitor developments and assess conditions affecting the safe operation of its flights. Further updates will be provided as necessary," the statement read.
Meanwhile, Saudi authorities on Monday extended the suspension of operations at Riyadh's international airport.
Strikes on the airport in recent days have killed at least 18 people, including 13 on Saturday in the deadliest attack on the kingdom in more than a decade, with hundreds, including two FIlipinos, also wounded.
The General Authority of Civil Aviation in a statement "announced the extension of the suspension of operations at King Khalid International Airport".
It said the extension was needed to "complete the necessary procedures to verify the safety of the facilities and their operational readiness".
The authority did not specify when operations would resume. (with reports from AFP)
