New York politician makes porn video for 'sex positive' campaign

Politicians are often judged as all talk and no action, but an independent congressional candidate in New York decided to disprove that notion when he made a porn video to promote his "sex positive" campaign.

As part of of his campaign to win against Rep. Jerry Nadler, who is also running for Manhattan's 12th District congressional seat, Mike Itkis uploaded a video titled "Bucket List Bonanza" on Pornhub three months ago, according to the website.

The thirteen-minute video, which is still posted on Pornhub, is composed of two segments filmed in July and October last year. It showed him having sex with porn performer Nicole Sage and was done in order to serve as a "conversation piece," he told City & State.

Itkis stressed that it wasn't enough that he would just talk about being positive towards sex.

“If I would just talk about it, it wouldn’t demonstrate my commitment to the issue. And the fact I actually did it was a huge learning experience, and it actually influenced items on my platform," Itkis said.

According to his "Sex Positive Approach" posted on his campaign website, the policies that he is promoting include abortion rights for women, decriminalizing and legalizing sex work, and opposing the conservative idea that sex should only happen between a man and a woman.

Itkis—who describes himself as "not married, no kids, not celibate, atheist"—told the news outlet that it was his first time having sex on camera and clarified that he is not an exhibitionist.

"I’m kind of a nerd who doesn’t like to be the center of attention if I can avoid it. But I thought the issues I’m trying to address are so important… I wanted to have my issues talked about in some way."
