Malacañang tells 'fake news vloggers/bloggers' to provide evidence that Liza Marcos' latest photo was edited
Malacañang said people who are calling First Lady Liza Marcos' latest photo "edited" are "fake news vloggers/bloggers" and must substantiate their claims.
“Those who usually criticize are those who are not privy to any meeting. What can we expect from those who know nothing? Madaling magpretend na as if they know everything," Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said in a statement sent to Palace reporters on March 23.
Castro said it's better to challenge such "fake news vloggers/bloggers," and they must "show their own verified evidence that will counter that photo."
She was referring to Marcos' photo uploaded on her official Facebook account on March 22 at 8 a.m. with the caption, "Regular meeting of the Asian Cultural Council [ ACC ] Pangarap Clubhouse, Malacañang Park, Manila | 21 March 2025."
The picture showed the First Lady in a blue top, surrounded by several guests in semi-formal attire.
Some Internet users believe that it was edited, with some pointing out that Marcos' lighting and shadow were different. Others, meanwhile, noted that it looks like she didn't have a chair.
Castro's statement came over a week after she dismissed claims that Marcos was held by law enforcers in the United States.
Marcos went to the US from March 5 to 8 to attend the Meeting of the Minds event and the Manila International Film Festival.
According to Castro, Marcos returned to the Philippines on March 10 at 5 a.m.
The following day, the First Lady posted a photo of her leading the turnover of donations to the Girl Scouts of the Philippines in her office in Manila.
