Daily minimum wage in Metro Manila to increase by P85: DOLE
The daily minimum wage for workers in Metro Manila is set to increase by P85—bringing it from P695 to P780 by January 2027.
Labor Secretary Francis Tolentino made the announcement during an event at the Malabon Central Market on Tuesday morning, June 30.
"Masaya ko pong ibinabahagi sa inyo ngayong umaga bilang pagsunod din sa tagubilin ng ating mahal na Pangulong Marcos at ng National Wage Board, itataas po natin ang suweldo ng lahat ng manggagawa dito sa Metro Manila," Tolentino read from a statement in front of media.
According to him, over 1.1 million daily wage earners in the National Capital Region will benefit from the wage increase.
Tolentino said it is the largest single wage hike ever granted to Metro Manila minimum wage earners.
The increase will be carried out in two tranches: P60 starting July 19, 2026, and P25 by January 2027.
