Fare discounts for students, senior citizens, and PWDs still in effect this Holy Week—LTFRB
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board has announced that fare discounts for students, persons with disabilities, and senior citizens are still in effect during the Holy Week.
The agency said in its public advisory that the 20% mandatory discounts for the said groups comply with the Republic Act Nos. 11314 and 10754.
“Ngayong Semana Santa 2025, ipinapaalala ng Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board na ang mga estudyante, senior citizens, at persons with disability (PWDs) ay may 20% diskwento sa pamasahe sa lahat ng mga pampublikong transportasyon,” the agency wrote in its Facebook post.
To enjoy the discount, LTFRB said that you must immediately inform the driver or the public utility vehicle conductors that you fall under the categories. Make sure to also bring your valid school ID, senior citizen ID, and PWD ID or any valid government-issued ID for persons with disability.
It also reminded that the student discounts are still applicable on holiday, semestral break, and weekends, which will be shouldered by operators, not by drivers, per the LTFRB Memorandum Circular 2025-010.
Ahead of the holidays, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority announced that the number coding scheme will be suspended on April 17 and 18.
