Here's how you can enjoy P1 fare when you ride the LRT-2 this July
Want to save on your daily commutes this July? Here's some good news for those riding the LRT-2.
On July 14, the Department of Transportation announced that you can enjoy a P1 fares on the LRT-2 when you use an RCBC credit or debit card or a MySSS card.
To enjoy the deal, head to the Fast Lane at any LRT-2 station, tap your RCBC debit card or credit card—or your phone through Google Pay—or your MySSS Card at the gates upon entry and exit.
Initially, you will be charged the regular fare. The fare difference will be credited back to your account in the form of cashback within three banking days. You can enjoy the piso fares for up to eight successful transit trips per calendar day.
According to RCBC's website, the promo will apply to qualified transactions, which means you must ensure your MyDebit Mastercard account is active and sufficiently funded.
Meanwhile, the deal is open to all RCBC Visa and Mastercard credit cardholders. There's a schedule for when cashback will be credited to users' accounts: For instance, transactions from July 13 to 20 will be credited on Aug. 3, 2026, while transactions from July 21 to 31 will be credited on Aug. 17, 2026.
On the other hand, all MySSS card powered by RCBC DiskarTech cardholders with a verified RCBC DiskarTech account may avail the promo.
The LRT-2 piso fare promo is available from July 13 to 31, 2026.
This deal comes as passengers of LRT-2 can now pay for fares with their Mastercard or Visa credit and debit cards, as well as QR codes from their e-wallets.
