Knorr Philippines brings online ‘reto’ to real life with the #ServingSingles Pitch-My-Friend Event

Knorr Philippines has officially brought its Valentine’s matchmaking success into the real world with #ServingSingles: Unlock Your Green Flag with Knorr, an in-person event designed to spark genuine connections through food.

Earlier in February, the brand helped Knorr Kitchen Singles trio, Michael Sager, Dani Buenvenida, and Jomari Angeles find their matches with the help of Knorr #ServingSingles TikTok filter. They found singles who cooked what each member of the trio was looking for—Michael’s adobo, Dani’s salpicao, and Jomari’s sinigang.

Knorr’s filter enabled users to spotlight their single friends and their signature dishes, fueling a wave of “pitch-my-friend” moments online.

Now, Knorr is taking that energy offline with an In-Real-Life event that turns online sparks into real conversations, proving once again that cooking is a dating green flag—and Knorr is the ultimate wingman.

The brand transformed digital engagement into an in-person experience that celebrated authenticity, conversation, and the universal attractiveness of cooking.

Recent findings reveal the shifting landscape of modern dating. Seventy-three percent of Filipinos aged 18 to 35 have asked someone out after seeing them on social media, underscoring the growing influence of digital platforms in forming real-world relationships. At the same time, cooking has emerged as a standout dating "green flag": 87 percent find someone who can cook attractive, and 95 percent find it appealing when a potential partner simply enjoys cooking.

The Serving Singles event tapped directly into these insights. Guests participated in live activities, including onstage friend pitches and crowd voting using “Knorr” (green) and “Naur” (red) flags—while comfort food served as a natural starting point for conversations. With many Filipinos reporting dating fatigue and a desire for more authentic interactions, the event offered a refreshing alternative to swipe-based matchmaking.

“Knorr has always believed that food brings people together,” the brand shared.

“Serving Singles allowed us to create a space where people could connect meaningfully—through real conversations, shared moments, and the joy of food,” the brand added.

As cooking continues to rise as one of today’s desirable traits, Knorr reinforces its role as the wingman in helping people feel confident in the kitchen.

With Knorr, anyone can create comforting, delicious meals that bring people closer—on dates, among friends, and beyond, because as the brand highlights, “Basta Knorr, kaya mong iluto yan!”
