Here are the schedules of government offices adopting the 4-day work week

Following President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s order of a temporary implementation of a four-day work week in some government agencies, several offices have begun adjusting their operating hours and work arrangements to help conserve energy in anticipation of rising oil prices.

Under the directive, the offices will adopt modified schedules, including longer workdays from Monday to Thursday and alternative setups such as work-from-home arrangements on Fridays, while ensuring that essential services remain available to the public.

Here are some government offices that have already announced changes to their work schedules:

Metropolitan Manila Development Authority

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority announced that their prescribed working hours are from Monday to Thursday, starting at 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Their non-working days will be every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Government Service Insurance System

In its advisory, the Government Service Insurance System said that it will adopt a Monday to Thursday workweek, with Fridays observed as a mandatory work-from-home day.

Service counters, including the Lobby and Pensioners Lounge, remain open Monday to Friday through adjusted frontline shifts.

Department of Trade and Industry

The Department of Trade and Industry’s central office will also apply a special flexible working scheme to conserve energy. 

According to One News, job order and contract of service workers in the DTI, excluding those involved in frontline functions, will have a work-from-home setup every Friday starting March 13.

"All DTI transactions every Friday are requested to be conducted online," the memorandum stated.

National Labor Relations Commission

The National Labor Relations Commission will also have its office hours from Monday to Thursday, starting at 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., while Friday is their non-working day.

Department of Tourism offices

Several offices of the Department of Tourism have also begun implementing energy-saving measures.

Operations in their Region III, VI, VII, and XI offices will be conducted Monday to Thursday, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., while Fridays will be observed as a non-working day.

Their Region IV-A and VIII branches will meanwhile have an 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m from Monday to Thursday, with Fridays designated as a non-working day.

Social Housing Finance Corporation

The Social Housing Finance Corporation head and regional offices will also transition to a four-day work week.

The schedule of their regular operations will be from Monday to Thursday at 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., while Fridays will be from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development

The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development will follow a 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. schedule for their regular operations on Monday to Thursday.

Their skeleton workforce will be every Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Department of Agriculture - Bicol

The Department of Agriculture's office in Bicol will have a prescribed working hour of 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. from Monday to Thursday.

San Jose, Nueva Ecija

The San Jose City government in Nueva Ecija will implement a 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. workweek from Monday to Thursday.

Gumaca, Quezon

In its advisory, the municipality of Gumaca in Quezon province will work from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Their "no office day" will be on Wednesday, but they assured that the department heads will remain "on-call" in case of emergencies.

Bingawan, Iloilo

The local government unit of Bingawan in Iloilo also announced a new work schedule, with office operations from Monday to Thursday, starting at 7:30 a.m to 6:30 p.m.

Burgos, La Union

The municipality of Burgos in La Union will have its office from Monday to Thursday, starting at 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

There will be no operations from Friday to Sunday. 

They noted, however, that frontline and essential service offices such as the Municipal Health Office and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office will continue their regular schedules to ensure the continuous delivery of public services.

Koronadal, South Cotabato

The government of Koronadal in South Cotabato also informed the public of their new work arrangement.

Regular office transactions will be held from Monday to Thursday, starting at 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Its office will be closed on Fridays.
