Chef Myke “Tatung” Sarthou shared his unfortunate experience with a group of customers who “made an issue out of everything” and just walked out without paying in one of his restaurants.

Chef Tatung took to Facebook on Sunday, July 7 to detail the encounter with the customers, who he described as “a fuzzy bunch” from the beginning.

"A group 4 had lunch at one of my restos. They were a fuzzy bunch from the onset."

"They made an issue out of everything: house music, the gender-neutral cr, the service, the food, the drinks," he narrated.

He stressed that he and his team would always try to accommodate their customers’ requests, but he was saddened when the group “verbally attacked” one of his staff.

“We always try to do our best all the time and accommodate all requests when reasonable.

But they verbally attacked our staff. They [dragged] my name into the conversation (kilala daw nila ako) and said not-so-nice things for other guests to hear. Really sad,” he continued.

He added, “Then walk out without paying. Every now and then we encounter these type of people.”

In the comments section, the chef detailed that the group was having a leisurely lunch and stayed at the restaurant for almost one hour. He added that the waiters were able to check on them without any problems, not until it was time to pay.

“I just saw the CCTV footage. They had a leisurely lunch, staying close to an hour in the resto, even ordered additional rice,” he recounted.

“Waiters checked on them every few minutes without any commotion until it was time to pay,” he continued, adding, “I really don't understand what was going on in their heads.”

He shared that they had the customers’ names and the situation recorded via CCTV.

“We have names and cctv. Pero thats not the point naman. Kakalungkot lang need pa mang bastos,” he lamented.

Social media users expressed their disappointment, with others suggesting that it may have been the group’s way to scam.

“Baka modus na po nila ang ganyan, magresto hopping and then magreklamo para di makabayad,” one Facebook user wrote.

“I think they did it in purpose, para di sila mag bayad… Sino kaya next victim nila ..Karma is just around the corner Chef,” another one commented.

Another user also wrote: “Money doesn't buy class. If they really know you, they should have taken up their opinions and suggestions with you. Not your staff. And leaving without paying?? That's a crime. Stealing. You can call the police on them. Feeling entitled people or just plain con artists. Sending love to you and your staff Chef.”
