'Pinay' is the third most searched term on Pornhub in 2025
Pornhub has now released its annual report detailing the trends, search terms, and viewing habits that shaped the platform’s global traffic in 2025, and it looks like Filipinos ended up under the spotlight.
In the adult website's 2025 Year in Review, the adult website listed the most searched terms globally. The term "pinay" once again ranked third on the platform.
According to Pornhub, the rising use of this term can "likely be traced to the growing audience from the Philippines."
The word "hentai" claimed the spot as the top searched term of the year for the fifth time in a row. This refers to a genre of Japanese animated or illustrated adult material.
"Interest in this kind of material continues to grow worldwide, encompassing everything from video game characters and anime-inspired cosplay to fully rendered 3D animations and beyond," Pornhub stated.
"Femboy" meanwhile rose in popularity and jumped 15 places compared to previous data, landing in the tenth spot. Pornhub explained that this "aligns with one of the growing trends this year, as more and more people are searching for content showing feminine adult men."
Among the site's most frequent visitors, the Philippines once again emerged as the third largest source of traffic, preceded only by the US and Mexico.
Pornhub noted that Filipinos, more than any other country in the top 20, searched for content featuring other Filipinos.
The word “pinay” was the term searched for most, by a landslide. Next was “pinoy” which also led by a wide margin before the third most searched term of the country, “japanese.” All three of these terms were identical to last year.
However, Filipinos appear to be expressing interest in "threesome" as it rose eight spots this year, as well as "chinese," which jumped to 15 spots.
As for visitor demographics, the Philippines emerged as the country with the largest share of female visitors at 64% while male viewers made up 36%.
Meanwhile, 49% of Filipinos on the site are aged 18 to 24, while 28% are aged 25 to 34, and 11% are aged 35 to 44.
The report also noted that there was a drop in traffic on Pornhub during regional holidays. For the Philippines, the site saw 11.8% fewer users during the Sinulog Festival last Jan. 19. Some 61% of users also log off the site on New Year's Eve from 6 p.m. to Midnight.
