PCSO institutional partner extends aid to families affected by habagat in Batangas

The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, through its Institutional Partnership Program, extended assistance to Buklod-Unlad ng Batangas, Inc.. The partner organization subsequently provided relief support to families affected by heavy rains and flooding brought by the Southwest Monsoon or habagat in Batangas.
The assistance was formally turned over to BUBI on Aug. 14 at the PCSO Batangas Branch in Lipa City for the procurement of food packs for affected families.
Representing PCSO were OIC-Branch Manager Brenda De Guzman and Social Welfare Officer II Mary Rose Ebora.
BUBI officials led by President Joel De Garcia, Treasurer Nazaria Espiritu, Secretary Julie Ann Punzalan, and Technical Support Staff Sherryl Anne Cruz received the assistance on behalf of the organization.
BUBI conducted relief operations in several barangays in Batangas beginning Aug. 21, providing food packs to families affected by the monsoon rains and flooding. The distribution covered Barangays Taludtud, Dao, Sucol, Patugo, Lucban, Salong, Quizumbing, Puting Bato West, and Lumbang Calzada.
Among those who received assistance were farmers, fisherfolk, factory workers, household workers, senior citizens, solo parents, women, persons with disabilities, and members of the LGBTQ+ community.
The relief initiative demonstrates how PCSO’s partnership with community-based organizations can help facilitate the delivery of assistance to affected families, particularly during emergencies and calamities.
Through the IPP, PCSO continues to work with qualified partner organizations to extend community support and respond to emerging social welfare needs.
