Discussions are brewing over where Miss Universe will head next, following claims that Vietnam will host the 2027 pageant.

On Friday, Legacy Holding Group, S.A. de C.V.—operating as "MU East" under the Master Hemisphere Agreement—announced Vietnam as the official host country for the 76th Miss Universe competition. Operating as 2027’s "Party in Turn," MU East claims to have authority to "handle all planning, execution, and host selection procedures."

"MU East looks forward to working with the Miss Universe community, National Directors, delegates and partners to deliver an exceptional competition that upholds the prestige, diversity and global standards of Miss Universe," the statement continued.

Further details, including the host city, venue, and competition dates will be announced soon, MU East said.

Meanwhile, the Miss Universe Organization on its missuniverseorg.com website has clarified that Vietnam "has not been designated as the host country," saying that in tradition, the official host country will be announced at the end of the coronation night.

"The Miss Universe Organization wishes to clarify that Vietnam has not been designated as the host country for the 76th Miss Universe Competition in 2027," it wrote on Friday, Oct. 9. "Consistent with Miss Universe tradition, the official host country will be announced at the conclusion of the Miss Universe 75 Final in San Juan, Puerto Rico."

MUO also rejected the said agreement, stating it was never officially approved and appears invalid. Consequently, MUO refuses to recognize any third-party authority or actions related to it—including those by Nawat Itsaragrisil—and reserves the right to take legal action.

It continued that MU East is inexistent and that "no individual acting under any such designation has authority to speak for the Organization, conduct negotiations, execute agreements, make commitments, or receive payments on its behalf."

MUO reiterated the official channels of the organization—@missuniverse on TikTok and Instagram and @OfficialMissUniverse on YouTube—while also noting that social media accounts "historically associated with the Organization" are being controled by "unauthorized" individuals outside its legitimate administration.

"Any content published through those channels does not represent the official position of the Miss Universe Organization. Appropriate legal actions have been initiated to recover control of these assets," it emphasized.

It added that any announcements made through other chanels not identified by them "has no official effect."

The Miss Universe brand is entangled in a complex ownership dispute, with MU East claiming that it shares an equal 50:50 partnership with MUO through JKN Legacy Inc., the parent entity of JKN Universe LLC.

However, JKN Universe LLC firmly rejects these claims, declaring that MU East has no legal authority to license the brand, strongly condemning Itsaragrisil for spreading false financial claims and interfering with the brand.

The upcoming 75th Miss Universe coronation night will be on Wednesday, Nov. 24 (Nov. 25 in the Philippines) at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot. Bea Millan-Windorski will represent the Philippines in the international pageant.
