Bench founder takes 475 employees to Hong Kong Disneyland
Ben Chan, the founder of local clothing brand Bench, celebrated the company's 35th anniversary by taking its 475 employees to popular theme park Hong Kong Disneyland.
"Grateful beyond words for the incredible journey with my BENCH family," Chan said in an Instagram post, along with a panorama of everybody. "Our 475 loyal employees are the heart of this celebration as we embrace the magic of HK Disneyland. Here's to more dreams fulfilled together."
In a separate post, Chan gave a shout-out to deaf-mute Bench employees, who have been with the company for over a decade.
The businessman also made a special mention to Bench employees from China, as well as in San Francisco and Guam for their loyalty and commitment.
Bench was founded in 1987, after Chan got the opportunity to design and sell men’s shirts and jeans at a local department store, according to the brand's website. Over the 30 years that followed, it expanded to San Francisco, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Bahrain, Myanmar, Japan, and various cities in China.
Bench is also among the several brands that have ridden the Hallyu wave, collaborating with the likes of Lee Minho, Jerry Yan, Park Shin Hye, and Hyun Bin as well as K-Pop groups ITZY, TWICE, and Enhypen.
Other Bench ambassadors include Hollywood stars Cole Sprouse and Bretman Rock.
