UST to offer full Adobe Suite to all students
All students of the University of Santo Tomas (UST) now have an “All Apps” subscription to Adobe Suite, the university’s Office of Information and Communications Technology announced.
Starting August 9, Thomasians can access 21 creative tools including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro. The students must simply sign in to the Adobe website using their UST Google Workspace accounts.
“This suite allows users to improve their digital skills, create compelling projects, and enhance their overall learning and creative journey,” Assistant to the Rector for ICT Asst. Prof. Jerralyn Padua said in a statement reported by The Flame.
UST student publication The Varsitarian’s Facebook post announcing the news has garnered over eight thousand likes and 250 comments, with alumni and students from other universities wishing to be part of the benefit.
Meanwhile, student block representatives from the College of Fine Arts and Design (CFAD) are calling for the reimbursement of their Adobe Suite subscriptions worth P3,500, which is part of the fees paid by each student during enrollment. TomasinoWeb reports the CFAD College Secretary is currently coordinating with UST-ICT.
A single subscription to Adobe’s “All Apps” plan costs P997 per month for the first year with Adobe’s Students & Teachers discount. Succeeding months are billed P1,744.
