Hergie Bacyadan is the second Filipino boxer to end their Olympic campaign as he suffered defeat at the hands of Chinese top seed Li Quan.

The Igorot boxer lost via unanimous decision, with all five judges scoring 30-27 in favor of the experienced Li in the round of 16th of the women's 75kg class at the North Paris Arena on July 31.

Li, a silver medalist at the 2021 Tokyo Games and bronze prize winner at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics, came in hot, landing hits on Bacyadan in the first two rounds.

The Igorot athlete couldn't find his rhythm to counter until later in the match in the final round.

The 2024 Paris Games marks Hergie's Olympic debut.

The pride of Kalinga is the second Filipino boxer to exit the Olympics after Eumir Marcial ended his campaign for a gold medal. The 2020 Tokyo Olympics bronze medalist lost to Turabek Khabibullaev of Uzbekistan via unanimous decision in the 16th round of the men's 80kg division.

Compatriots Aira Villegas and Nesthy Petecio are left to represent the country in the sport, while Carlo Paalam is set to fight later Wednesday evening (Philippine time).
