The Sandiganbayan 3rd Division has suspended Sen. Rodante Marcoleta as he faces a pending plunder charge over his non-disclosure of P75 million in campaign donations.

GMA News reported that the anti-graft court issued a resolution on Monday, Oct. 19 ordering a 90-day suspension against the senator.

In July, Marcoleta surrendered to authorities after an arrest warrant was served against him. This came after the Office of the Ombudsman filed non-bailable plunder charges against the lawmaker, former congressman Mike Defensor, and businessmen Joseph Varias and Aristotle Baluyut Viray for indirect bribery and violation of Presidential Decree 46, which prohibits public officials from receiving gifts by reason of their office.

According to the Ombudsman, Marcoleta admitted on TV in November 2025 to receiving funds as donations during his 2025 senatorial campaign but failed to declare them in his asset statements.

The lawmaker is currently undergoing trial.

Apart from Marcoleta, Sen. Jinggoy Estrada has also been suspended for another 90 days, as he faces plunder charges in connection with the flood control scandal.
