Philippine Women's Football Team makes historic AFF finals appearance after upsetting Vietnam
The Philippine women's football team outplayed defending champions Vietnam, 4-0, during the semifinals of the Asean Football Federation Women's Championship last July 15 at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
The national team also pulled off yet another feat by advancing to the finals for the very first time.
On July 17, the Philippines will have a championship showdown against Thailand, which handed its only loss in the tournament last July 12.
Thailand advanced to the finals after defeating Myanmar, 2-0.
The Philippines wrote history last Jan. 31 when it secured a ticket to the FIFA World Cup slated for July 2023. New Zealand and Australia will host the prestigious meet.
