PSA: Voter registration via Register Anywhere Program ends on August 31

Still haven't registered to vote? You can still do so until August 31 at the nearest Register Anywhere Program (RAP) site.

The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) is reminding voters that this is their last opportunity to register at locations outside their usual residency.

Through this program, qualified voters may go to any RAP site—which can be found in malls, universities, and government offices/agencies—regardless of their place of residence, submit their application form and other requirements, and have their biometrics data collected.

COMELEC chair George Garcia said: "This means that if you are in Manila from Bicol or the Visayas or Mindanao, you can get registered where you are studying or working. You don’t need to go home to the provinces."

RAP sites will accept applications for new registration; transfer of registration from another city, municipality, or district; transfer of registration from overseas to local; correction of entries or change of status; and reactivation.

The consolidated schedule for RAP sites can be found here.

Meanwhile, local and overseas voter registration is ongoing until September 30 at the Office of the Election Officer in your area (for local voters), or at the embassy, consulate, or MECO in Taiwan (for overseas voters).

Comelec spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco previously said that there will be no more extensions for registration as they would need to submit the list of registrants to the Election Registration Board Hearing by October 15.

"Wala po talagang extension dahil binabalak na po ng Comelec na talaga na i-imprenta ang pinal na bilang ng balota by December,” he told Radyo 630.
