LIST: Malls offering temporary shelter, free overnight parking to those affected by the Southwest monsoon
The southwest monsoon, or habagat, rains reinforced by a Low Pressure Area monitored east of Northern Luzon have caused severe flooding across Metro Manila and surrounding regions.
With expected rainfall reaching 100 to 200mm, Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration on late Monday afternoon has issued general flood advisories across NCR, CAR, Ilocos Region, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, and Bicol.
Earlier that day, Malacañang ordered alternative work and learning setups across the capital and 13 provinces.
To assist shoppers and motorists seeking safety, major mall developers have opened their facilities as temporary shelters. Participating establishments are waiving overnight parking fees while providing access to free Wi-Fi, charging stations, restrooms, and help desks.

Estancia
Estancia at Capitol Commons announced that it is waiving the parking fees on Monday, Aug. 17.
"This measure is being implemented to offer a safe and secure parking option for vehicles and to provide temporary shelter for mallgoers who may be affected by the heavy rains," it wrote.
Greenhills Mall
Greenhills Mall shoppers, the mall is waiving overnight parking fees at McKinley Parking on Monday due to the ongoing inclement weather.
"Greenhills will be open to those who need temporary shelter from heavy rains," it wrote.
Megaworld Lifestyle Malls
Aside from waiving overnight parking fees for Aug. 17, Megaworld Lifestyle Malls—including Eastwood City, Uptown Bonifacio, Forbes Town, and Lucky Chinatown—is also offering free EV charging. Some essential stores are also open during regular mall hours.
Robinsons Malls
Those who need to move their cars or are stranded may avail of Robinsons Malls' free overnight parking, device charging station, and wifi access on Aug. 17.

Sta. Luicia Mall
Sta. Lucia Mall will keep its parking area open to customers affected by the extreme weather conditions. Overnight parking fees for Monday have been waived.
Vista Mall
Vista Mall says their place will "serve as temporary shelter and provide essential facilities to ensure community’s safety due to the continuous heavy rainfall brought by the southwest monsoon."
Overnight parking, restrooms, power outlets for chargin, and free WiFi are available at all Vista Malls.
