Luciana Fuster of Peru is Miss Grand International 2023

Luciana Fuster of Peru is the new Miss Grand International queen! 

After a series of competitions from the preliminaries to the grand finals, the beauty queen hailing Peru emerged as the winner, besting 69 delegates from all over the world. The coronation night took place on Oct. 25 at the Phu Tho Indoor Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.  

Embodying this year’s theme “Beauty with Readiness” she will take over the crown from Brazil’s Isabella Menin who was crowned the winner in October 2022.

In the Q&A portion at the last stage of the competition for the three finalists, Luciana was asked which leader would she speak to about the Israel-Palestine war and what would she say to them to improve the situation.

She said: "Nowadays, we live in constant conflicts. And sadly, war is something that is difficult to solve. So I will talk to Israel's president and ask him to take care [of] all his nations because no one deserves to live in hurt. There are lots of people dying day by day, and all the news [is] horrible. So if we didn't change our minds, if we didn't change our comportment, we can never be a good society. We can never be a great society. So please, release the hostages. Thank you."

Ni Ni Lin Eian of Myanmar, Maria Alejandra Lopez of Colombia, Sthephanie Miranda of USA, and Lê Hoàng Phương of Vietnam rouned up the finalists.

During the finals night, the pageant also recognized other beauty queens for special awards. The Golden Grand Award was awarded to Ritassya Wellgreat of Indonesia, while the Country’s Power of the Year 2023 was awarded to Myanmar’s Ni Ni Lin Eian. 

The best national costume was given to three candidates: Japan’s Yayoi Machida, Nigeria’s Boma Nokubo, and Vietnam’s Lê Hoàng Phương. 

Skarxi Marte from the Dominican Republic bagged the best swimsuit award, while Anastasiia Volkonskaia of Russia bagged the best in evening gown award. Kitava-Yvettlana Fosuwaa-Amankwaa of Ghana was awarded the Grand Voice Award. 

 Malaysia will host next year's pageant is set to take place on Oct. 25.
