BingoPlus awards P312 million to its lucky spin grand prize winner

Renowned digital gaming platform BingoPlus started the new year with a bang by awarding its lucky spin grand winner on Jan. 10, at the Diamond Hotel, Manila City.

A lucky spin gives the loyal players of BingoPlus one or more chances to win an additional jackpot. The most recent grand winner, a woman from Luzon, received the symbolic check for her prize worth P312,534,630.80. 

Since its establishment, the gaming platform has grown and cemented its name in the industry. Jasper Vicencio, president of AB Leisure Exponent, Inc., a subsidiary of DigiPlus Interactive Corp., which runs BingoPlus, explained that their desire to surprise their audiences motivates them to innovate continuously. He also shared that their aim of capturing the “Pinoy feel” contributes to the success of BingoPlus.

“Masaya tayong maging masaya. Even if we spend some, a little, basta masaya ka. I guess that’s the main focus of BingoPlus and we continuously innovate this and continuously find products that could make people happy, of different ages, of different generations,” Vicencio said.

The winner's story

Following the press conference at her awarding, the winner sat with members of the media to talk about her momentous win.

She recounted her glorious moment which happened in December. “Nasa bahay ako. Actually, nakahiga na ako. Mag-isa lang ako dun sa kwarto. And then n’ung nag-pop up na nga ‘yung amount, ‘di na ako makahinga. Hindi rin ako makasigaw kasi malalaman ng mga kapitbahay namin.”

“So ang hirap noong gusto mong sumigaw, gusto mong sabihin sa lahat na, ‘Yes, nanalo ako,’ pero hindi ka pwedeng magsalita. So ikineep ko ‘yun hanggang ngayon. Kaya hanggang ngayon ‘di pa rin ako humihinga,” she quipped.

She has been careful with disclosing her win. So far, only her husband knows about it. After all, it takes time to process such an eventful moment, where emotions of happiness and worry mix in the process.

While she has yet to receive financial coaching sessions, she truly believes in its importance. “Hindi pa rin siya nagsi-sink in sa utak ko, na nanalo ako nang ganito. So mas maganda talaga siguro may financial advisor ka para kahit papaano, hindi mo man sundin, or at least may idea ka kung saan ka magsisimula. So I think very important ‘yan.”

The BingoPlus winner believes that her win showed the importance and value of patience in life. “Siguro ang problema lang natin madali tayong mainip. Pero sabi nga nila, [kung] para sa 'yo, para sa 'yo.”

She dedicates this win to her family and plans to resign from her job to spend more time with her three growing children.

To play is to gamble, and she highlighted the importance of playing responsibly. She advised people to set limits while playing and reminded her fellow players to keep their emotions in check, especially when they lose their bets.
