Motorists may soon view, settle NCAP violations on eGov app
Motorists may soon access the recordings and settle the penalties for no-contact apprehension policy violations through the eGov PH app.
Department of Information and Communications Technology Undersecretary David Almirol said on Wednesday, June 4, that they are working with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority to integrate the NCAP with the eGov app.
"Ito pong mga bagong feature po na ini-integrate natin that we’re working closely tulad po sa NCAP po–nag-meeting na po kami sa MMDA so mari-receive na po iyong mga penalties mo doon sa eGov app," Almirol said during the press briefing.
He added that motorists can check how many violations they have and settle the penalties at their own convenience. They will also receive notifications via the app and text whenever they commit a violation. They will receive data through the e-government data exchange platform, which allows them to have the same information as the Land Transportation Office.
"Para in the future kapag may magri-renew ng lisensiya doon or driver’s license, hindi ka puwede makapag-renew kasi you have to pay the penalty. So, single entry lang po iyon so nag-uusap-usap po sila without sharing information," Almirol explained.
The said feature is still in the process of integration. They have yet to announce the official rollout.
NCAP allows authorities to capture photos and videos through closed-circuit television or digital cameras and apprehend traffic violators easily. It was implemented three years after the Supreme Court lifted the temporary restraining order in May, as requested by the MMDA.
The eGov app is a mobile app launched in 2023 that serves as a one-stop hub for various government services offered by at least 26 public agencies in the country.
