Goodbye, additional fees: GCash and Grab team up for zero fees on cashless transactions
We've all been there—seeing as much as P50 vanish from our e-wallets and into cyberspace because of annoying additional transfer fees.
Just when you thought you couldn't get away with it, GCash partnered with rides and delivery platform Grab to give users zero transfer fees on transactions made between the two apps.
On Jan. 24, GCash announced in a press release that it has partnered with Grab to be one of the app's payment methods for GrabCar, GrabFood, GrabMart, GrabExpress, and other Grab services.
Big bonus: The partnership withholds additional fees on transactions made by users of both apps.
The move is in line with the company's aim to "make the lives of Filipinos better each day by delivering a more convenient, secure, and cost-efficient way to pay for their rides and food and grocery deliveries," GCash president and CEO Martha Sazon.
Currently, additional fees can cost up to P50 per transaction. Globe and Grab's transaction fee-free payment scheme is set to take effect by February.
