Leni Robredo is one of Harvard Kennedy School’s prestigious 2022 Hauser Leaders
Former Vice President Leni Robredo has been chosen as one of Harvard Kennedy Center’s 2022 Hauser Leaders, a list of distinguished leaders to "develop principled, effective public leaders who make positive change in the world" from the Harvard community.
The Hauser Leaders consist of seasoned leadership practitioners from across the public, nonprofit, and private sectors around the world. They will join events to meet and engage with Harvard members throughout the year.
They are also tasked to give lectures and lead events on the Cambridge campus.
“At a time when many challenges stem from leadership shortcomings, these Hauser Leaders bring to campus living examples of principled and effective public leadership,” said Center for Public Leadership co-director Deval Patrick.
"Though from different experiences, these leaders share values, values applied in practical ways, that they can now share with the Kennedy School community."
Alongside Robredo, other chosen leaders include U.S. Representative Jane Harmon, novelist David Ignatius, United Negro College Fund CEO and President Michel Lomax, and The HOW Institute for Society Founder Dov Seidman.
Robredo joins Rappler CEO Maria Ressa as one of two Filipinos on the distinguished list. Ressa was dubbed a Hauser Leader in the Fall of 2021.
In a Facebook post, the former VP shared the news and thanked Harvard for the opportunity. “A huge honor to be invited at Harvard Kennedy School's Center for Public Leadership, as one its Hauser Leaders for the Fall 2022 semester,” she wrote.
Robredo has since been establishing her non-profit organization, Angat Buhay Foundation, as a private citizen.
Meanwhile, Robredo’s second daughter, Tricia, is also pursuing her Master of Medical Sciences in Global Health Delivery at Harvard Medical School. Tricia began her studies this late August.
The former VP’s eldest child, Aika, also graduated from Harvard's John F. Kennedy School of Government with a master in Public Administration.
