Robinsons Supermarket at 40: Adding heart to every cart
Established in 1985, Robinsons Supermarket, a subsidiary of Robinsons Retail Holdings, Inc., celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, maintaining its position as the supermarket of choice for fresh and healthy foods.
On August 8, 2025, the supermarket chain held its brand day celebration to commemorate its founding anniversary. The highlight of the event was the Brand Services Awards, in which more than 60 employees who have been working with Robinsons Supermarket for 25 years or more were recognized for their service.
Kerwin Legarde, group general manager of Robinsons Supermarket, waxed nostalgic as he shared his experiences during his welcoming remarks: “It feels like I've traveled back to where it all began… Who would have thought that one day, I’d be standing here before you, leading the Robinsons Supermarket banner? It’s truly a full-circle moment.” Mr. Legarde started as a Management trainee, then moved up the ranks quickly to Store Manager, and now, several decades later, as its group general manager.
“As we celebrate 40 years of Robinsons Supermarket, we don't just honor milestones. We honor the people and the moments that built us,” he added.
Giving the employees their awards were Robina Gokongwei-Pe, chairman of Robinsons Retail Holdings, Inc., Stanley Co, president and CEO of Robinsons Retail Holdings, Inc., and Christine Tueres, managing director of food segment at Robinsons Supermarket, alongside Legarde.
“I bear witness to the passion, hard work, and dedication everyone brings to make Robinsons Supermarket what it is today and what will shape its future,” said Tueres.

The employees of Robinsons Supermarket’s head office also participated in interactive activities during the Brand Gathering segment of the event, which included games and a photo booth.
Completing the event was a Brand Fest, where attendees could enjoy items from participating brands.
40th anniversary promo
To celebrate its 40th anniversary, Robinsons Supermarket has ongoing exclusive deals, special bundles, and surprises prepared for its patrons. With a minimum purchase of P4,000 in participating items, customers get the chance to win P400,000 worth of Robinsons Gift Certificates. Additionally, grocery shoppers can score a free foldable pushcart once they accumulate P40,000 worth of purchases using their Go Rewards card at select Robinsons Supermarket stores.
Moving forward
As Robinsons Supermarket looks back on four decades of service, it also sets its sights on the future with a stronger commitment to innovation and growth. The chain is expanding nationwide while unveiling a refreshed, more modern store design—complete with calming matcha-toned tiles on columns, ambient halo lighting, and an enhanced wellness section.
Four decades may have passed, but Robinsons Supermarket remains true to its promise: serving communities and bringing its heart to every cart.
