LIST: LRT, MRT, and PNR operating schedules during Holy Week 2025

Published Apr 11, 2025 12:13 pm

Commuters are advised that Light Rail Transit Lines 1 and 2, Metro Rail Transit Line 3, and the Philippine National Railways will halt operations for the Holy Week break.

The operations will cease from Maundy Thursday, April 17 to Easter Sunday, April 20. Normal operations will resume on April 21, Monday.

The time during suspension will be used for maintenance activities, the operators said in separate posts.

Trains will still be available as usual from April 14, Monday, to 16, Wednesday.

LRT-1 will have normal operating hours before the temporary suspension, with the first train from Dr. Santos (formerly Sucat) and Fernando Poe Jr. (formerly Roosevelt) stations leaving at 4:30 a.m. and last trains at 10:30 p.m. and 10:45 p.m., respectively.

LRT-2 is following suit, with Recto and Antipolo stations operating at 5 a.m. and ending at 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., respectively.

MRT-3 will do the same, with the first train trips scheduled at 4:30 a.m. from North Avenue Station and 5:05 a.m. from Taft Avenue Station.

It will, however, extend its operating hours on April 16, Wednesday, with the last train trips at 10:30 p.m. from North Avenue Station and 11:09 p.m. from Taft Avenue Station.

PNR, which operates in Laguna, Quezon, Camarines Sur, and Albay, has announced an updated schedule for its Bicol Commuter Train, effective April 14. The new timetable includes early morning trips starting at 5:20 a.m. and late afternoon departures until 5:30 p.m.

The Holy Week is the Christian church's time of devotion to the Passion of Jesus Christ, with Maundy Thursday and Good Friday serving as official holidays.
