Cebu Pacific to launch Starlink in-flight Wi-Fi in 2027
High-speed internet is officially coming to the Philippine skies.
Cebu Pacific announced that it has partnered with SpaceX to introduce Starlink internet services onboard its flights.
The satellite-powered service will provide passengers with high-speed, low-latency Wi-Fi capable of supporting streaming, gaming, and other online activities. It will likewise improve connectivity for flight crews and operational teams, boosting operational efficiency.
The partnership is considered a milestone for Philippine aviation as Cebu Pacific will be the first budget airline in Southeast Asia to bring Starlink technology to its aircraft.
The rollout is expected in 2027 as part of Cebu Pacific’s broader efforts to strengthen customer experience and digital capabilities.
Cebu Pacific joins fellow Indigo Partners airlines Frontier, Wizz Air, Volaris, and JetSMART in the planned deployment of Starlink across more than 1,000 aircraft.
“Starlink will provide our portfolio airlines with reliable, high-speed connectivity, further enhancing the customer experience of flying on Wizz, Frontier, Volaris, JetSMART and Cebu Pacific,” said Bill Franke, Managing Partner of Indigo Partners, in a press release.
"Reliable, high-speed connectivity has become an expectation for today's travelers, and we're excited to bring that experience to our guests. Whether they're staying in touch with loved ones, catching up on work, or enjoying their favorite content, Starlink will allow them to stay connected throughout their journey while Cebu Pacific remains true to our commitment to making air travel accessible and affordable," said Cebu Pacific's Xander Lao.
