LIST: 7 Filipinas who landed in Fortune's Most Powerful Women in Asia 2024 ranking
Seven Filipinas are part of Fortune's list of 100 Most Powerful Women in Asia in 2024.
The business magazine dropped its annual ranking recognizing female business leaders in Asia who are "transforming companies, disrupting industries and driving growth, innovation, and business excellence, whilst inspiring their teams, peers, industries, and the next generation of leaders."
The women in the list come from various industries—from finance, energy, transportation, food and beverages, and hospitality.
China's Grace Wang, the co-founder of Shenzen-based Luxshare, is the most powerful woman in Asia this year followed by Singapore's Helen Wong, CEO of OCBC, and Japan's Makiko Ono, the CEO of Suntory Beverage and Food.
Here's a list of women from the Philippines who made the annual ranking.
Martha Sazon
GCash president and CEO Martha Sazon ranked 38th on the list. Fortune took note of GCash's increase in valuation to $5 billion (P285 billion) in August after an investment from MUFG, Japan's biggest lender.
Robina Gokongwei-Pe
At no. 48 is Robina Gkongwei-Pe, the president and CEO of Robinsons Retail Holdings and daughter of late entrepreneur John Gokongwei Jr. In January, she's poised to become chairman of the company with Stanley Co taking over her post as CEO.
Lorelie Quiambao Osial
Shell Pilipinas' first female president and CEO Lorelie Quiambao Osial made the list at no. 67. She rose through the ranks in finance and accounting before taking on leadership roles in the United Arab Emirates and Iraq.
Anna Ma. Margarita Bautista Dy
Ranking in 73rd place, Anna Ma. Margarita Bautista Dy became the president and CEO of the country's largest land developer, Ayala Land, in October 2023. She has been part of the company's management committee since 2008 and served as the executive vice president and COO.
Lynnette V. Ortiz
Land Bank of the Philippines president and CEO Lynette V. Ortiz makes the list in 82nd place. She was appointed to the post in May 2023 by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Lourdes Gutierrez-Alfonso
In 85th place is Megaworld president Lourdes Gutierrez-Alfonso, who has been with the company for almost as long as its founder Andrew Tan. Joining in 1990, she has served as COO, and director and chairman of the board.
Rhoda Huang
In 98th place, Rhoda Huang became the first person outside the Gotianun family to become president and CEO of Filinvest Development. Her impressive resume includes stints with JPMorgan Chase, Credit Suisse Philippines, and BPI Capital.
