Pride and pleasure for all: Durex supports the LGBTQIA+ community

Published Jul 04, 2023 1:00 pm

Pleasure is for every gender and sexuality—whether in life or in the bedroom. Durex has been a long-time believer in pleasure for everyone. That’s why the world’s number one condom brand joined this June’s Pride Month festivities to stand as an LGBTQIA+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, intersex, asexual and more) ally and to promote the advocacy of pride for all, pleasure for all.

Empowerment for all

This year, Durex held a series of Pride Month events to spread its message of inclusive pleasure and the importance of coming together in solidarity to support the LGBTQIA+ community.

The highlight of Durex’s Pride Month festivities was its participation in the Metro Manila Pride March and Festival at Circuit Event Grounds in Makati on June 24. With the theme “Tayo ang Kulayaan,” this year’s Manila Pride March aimed to embody the strength of the LGBTQIA+ community that is rooted in diversity.

As a prime event sponsor, Durex joined the Manila Pride March and Festival in its activities including the Eduk Hangouts, a series of talks that will shed light and elaborate on various LGBTQIA+ issues, by providing pleasure leaflets and free condoms to attendees.

“Durex supports this year’s Pride March and encourages everyone to join the march to show our solidarity and support for the LGBTQIA+ community. We have always believed that sexual freedom of expression can come in many different forms, understanding the need to offer options for all individuals to feel seen, heard, and respected,” said Durex brand manager Camille Taguba. She added that the Manila Pride March and Festival is a chance to amplify this message even further.

Taguba said, “Durex’s participation in the Pride activities underscores the brand’s commitment to equip, educate, and liberate, to unleash the open and curious (individuals’) true sexual selves. The brand will continue to prioritize its values of acceptance, diversity, and inclusivity now and in the years to come.”

A celebration of LGBTQIA+ excellence, the event featured a diverse line-up of only the best and most exciting artists and performers, including comedian Baus Rufo and Marky, with Jer Dee and Celeste Lapida on the DJ decks.
