Number coding scheme suspended on Feb. 17 for Chinese New Year
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority has suspended the number coding scheme in Metro Manila on Feb. 17.
This comes as Tuesday is Chinese New Year, which is a special non-working holiday. The number coding scheme is automatically suspended on official and special non-working holidays.
"Kadalasang mabigat ang daloy ng trapiko sa mga lugar tulad ng Binondo sa Maynila kung saan isinasagawa ng mga Tsinoy ang kanilang tradisyon," the MMDA said in its advisory.
The agency also advised motorists to plan their trips, follow traffic rules, and drive safely on the road.
