CAVITEX to increase toll fees starting Oct. 28

Published Oct 25, 2025 11:06 am

The Manila-Cavite Expressway will increase its toll rates starting Tuesday, Oct. 28.

According to the expressway company, the Toll Regulatory Board approved rate hike petitions from CAVITEX Infrastructure Corp. and the Philippine Reclamation Authority, which were filed in 2020 and 2023. The increased revenue will fund ongoing upgrades and maintenance.

The following VAT-inclusive rates will apply to the CAVITEX R1 Portion (Seaside to Zapote):

  • Class 1: from P35 to P39
  • Class 2: from P70 to P78
  • Class 3: from P104 to P117

Meanwhile, the CAVITEX R1 Extension Segment 4 (Zapote to Kawit) rate adjustment will be split into two tranches (2025 and 2026) to ease the burden on motorists, according to the toll road company.

First tranche adjustments:

  • Class 1: from P73 to P88
  • Class 2: from P146 to P176
  • Class 3: from P219 to P264

It noted that due to the adjustment at the CAVITEX R1 portion, the Sucat Interchange toll rate will be adjusted. For the CAVITEX C5 Link Segment 2 (Dr. A. Santos to CAVITEX), the new VAT-inclusive rates will be P38 (Class 1), P76 (Class 2), and P114 (Class 3).

CAVITEX also said that it will reactivate the "Abante Program" as a toll reprieve initiative to soften the effect of the increase. Under this program, registered PUVs and agri trucks will be allowed to pay the old toll rates for 90 days after the new rates take effect.

In the statement, CAVITEX said it has completed major infrastructure projects to enhance the expressway's safety and efficiency before the toll petitions were even approved.

These projects included replacing Expansion Joints at the Parañaque Segment Bridges and Imus Viaduct, which significantly improved ride comfort and structural reliability. Furthermore, the company upgraded the RFID systems and installed Automatic License Plate Recognition technology to ensure faster and more seamless transactions for motorists. Currently, pavement rehabilitation works are ongoing in critical portions of both the Kawit and Parañaque segments.
