You can now register for QC's 'Right to Care' card online—here's how

The Quezon City Government's "Right to Care" card registration can now be done online.

Launched in 2023, the card is the "first-ever special power of attorney card for queer couples," according to the QC government. It recognizes the cardholder's right to make decisions regarding their partner's medical care, including treatment, lab tests, and prescriptions. They can agree, refuse, or withdraw consent for any type of medical care on behalf of their partner.

This April, the QC Government announced that registration for the card is now included in QC e-Services. Queer couples can now apply for the card online in three steps as long as they have a QC e-Services account.

1. Log in to the QC e-Services portal. Click on the "Right to Care Card" icon.

2. Click "Apply for Right to Care Card."

3. Fill out the form with you and your partner's personal information. When you're done, click "Save Application."

You will receive a confirmation email after you complete the registration. The status of your application will be displayed on your QC e-Services dashboard.

A representative from the Gender and Development Council Office will call you as part of the verification process.

For questions, call the Gender and Development Council Office at 8988 4242 local 8739 or email them at GADCouncil@quezoncity.gov.ph.

Only queer couples who live in Quezon City can avail of the card. They can apply for it even if only one of them is a QC resident.
