"Let's give Ma. Ahtisa Manalo a heartwarming and spectacular welcome home!" MUPH wrote in the caption of its post.

Manalo placed fourth at the 74th Miss Universe in Thailand, with Mexico's Fatima Bosch winning the title. The Filipina was hailed third placer in the "Beyond the Crown" competition at the pageant's after-party.

"After 18 years, I have finally arrived at my ultimate destination that is to represent the Philippines in the Miss Universe stage. My pageant journey may end, but the work continues. Let's continue fighting for what we want—a better Philippines and a better universe," she wrote about her journey on Nov. 23.

Manalo returned to Manila on Nov. 25.

The 74th edition of the pageant has since been embroiled in controversy, as fourth runner-up Olivia Yacé of Côte d'Ivoire resigned as Miss Universe Africa and Oceania, and more candidates spoke out regarding this year's competition.
