KVAC adjusts visa processing time to 18 days

Those heading to South Korea, make sure to leave yourself plenty of lead time before the trip.

Korea Visa Application Center Philippines announced that starting Wednesday, Feb. 25, the processing time for short-term visit (C-3) visa will take 18 working days from the previous 16 working days.

Express applications will still be processed within five working days, with an additional fee of P500 on top of the standard P900 center service fee, effective March 2.

Applicants are highly advised to submit their applications two to three months before their intended travel date to prevent any inconvenience if a passport is required while processing.

While it’s tempting to lock in a deal especially during seat sales, KVAC reminded applicants not to book flights in advance, as visa approval is not guaranteed.

They added that applicants may visit the center on the next working day after they receive the SMS notification.

A short-term Korean visa is for visitors planning a brief stay in Korea for reasons including family visits, business, tourism, cultural activities, and more.

KVAC had earlier updated its visa requirements, including waiving the need for three months of bank statements.
