Flying with your cat? Philippine Airlines now allows them onboard domestic flights
No more leaving your fur baby behind when you take a trip!
After welcoming dogs onboard, Philippine Airlines is also making it easier for cat parents to bring their feline companions along as they are allowing them on select domestic flights.
In an announcement, they said that customers can bring their cats with them through their pet travel service FurPAL starting Sept. 1.
Keep in mind, however, that there is a P2,500 one-way fare that you must pay.
To enjoy the service, visit the Philippine Airlines website and enter and select your desired flight.
On the Flight Details page, click on FurPAL on the Travel Boost section to include your cat. One adult passenger can only bring one pet.
Cats must be at least 12 weeks old, fully weaned, and able to stand, turn, and lie down comfortably inside their carrier. Only small cats weighing 10 kilograms or less, including the carrier—are allowed.
Pet carriers must be soft-sided, fully enclosed, and leak-proof with a solid base. They also need to have at least two ventilation panels, can be closed securely with zippers, Velcro, or similar, can fit under the seat, and be free from strong odors, damage, or contamination.
To be accepted on board on your flight, you must submit the following documents:
- Declaration, Release and Waiver Form
- Health Certification valid for five days
- Anti Rabies Vaccination administered within a year / 12 months
- Bureau of Animal Industry Local Shipping Permit
