Raymond Gutierrez clarifies brother Richard’s support for kids following Sarah Lahbati’s interview
Raymond Gutierrez is clearing the air for his twin, Richard, after his estranged wife, Sarah Lahbati, spoke about whether she needed help supporting their children.
In his comment on a TikTok video featuring Lahbati's interview on Kylie Verzosa's Almost Honest podcast, Raymond addressed her claims regarding financial independence. He clarified that Richard has consistently provided for their children, specifically highlighting his ongoing support for their education and extracurricular activities.
"My brother provides for his kids. Period. School, hobbies, travel, clothing, staff and everything else they need. The kids split their time equally between both parents. I can’t sit here and watch this and not state facts," he wrote. "I wish this was clarified during this interview."
In the podcast, Lahbati opened up about motherhood, career, and love. At one point, Verzosa asked her if there was a time she felt like asking for help to provide for her kids.
"No," she immediately said. "I will be honest and say I struggle asking for help, but in this specific scenario and question of yours, no, I don’t feel the need to. I can do it, so I don’t see why I should or ask. Period,” said Lahbati.
When asked if they had any agreement regarding the matter, Lahbati said, "I don’t think there was even any discussion in terms of that stuff."
"It is my decision as well. It is my decision that I’m okay with not getting help. I’m never gonna beg. I’m never gonna ask. It should be an automatic thing, actually. If it’s not, why am I gonna beg or ask, if I can do it myself,” she added.
In the same podcast, Verzosa, who praised Lahbati for being a "strong, independent woman," asked if she's ready to find new love.
“Love is not necessarily a priority, but then I know it’s gonna come, and I want my fairytale. I want that giddy feeling again, and see what it’s gonna be like for me because I know I have love to give. So it’s just there,” she said.
After months of speculation, Lahbati publicly confirmed her breakup with Richard in March 2024. The couple had been together since 2012 and married in 2020. They share two sons, Zion and Kai.
Richard is currently dating actress Barbie Imperial.
