Philippine franchise of Rita's Italian Ice reopens with four stores starting March
The Philippine branch of the dessert brand Rita’s Italian Ice is reopening in March after shutting down in 2022.
“We’re thrilled to announce that Rita’s is re-launching in the Philippines this year!” Rita’s said in a Facebook post.
“Yes, the old stores are gone,” it said. “However, we’re re-opening in new locations to serve you your favorite Italian ice, Gelati, Misto, Frozen Drinks and MORE!”
The brand said it’s opening four stores between March and May, and asked patrons to follow its Facebook page for updates.
The Philippine franchise opened in 2015 at UP Town Center and ceased operations in January 2022 after seven years. It also had branches at the Ayala Malls The 30th in Pasig City and V-Mall Greenhills Shopping Center in San Juan City.
In March 2022, the store said it was back in business but only lasted a few weeks.
Founded in Philadelphia in 1984, Rita’s Italian Ice has over 600 branches worldwide.
Its signature product is Italian Ice, a treat made of finely granulated ice and fruit which it advertises as "made fresh daily with real fruit."
It also offers frozen custard, which has a dozen flavors and can be customized with different toppings and syrups.
