Agoda launches dedicated platform for quarantine bookings in the Philippines
The Overseas Workers Welfare Association (OWWA) on May 17 said that there are about 9,300 OFWs staying in quarantine hotels after the Department of Health (DOH) extended the quarantine of inbound travelers to 10 days, with the COVID test taken either on the 7th or 8th day of their isolation.
Molecular epidemiologist Dr. Edsel Salvana has said that the variants of concern entered the country through returning travelers but that “there is data that we can shorten quarantine from 14 days to 10 days provided that the person remains asymptomatic during that whole time."
Inbound Filipinos and inter-bubble domestic travelers who are required to complete a mandatory 14-day quarantine can do so with the first 10 days completed in a quarantine facility and the remaining four days to be fulfilled at home.
Travelers coming from abroad can now book quarantine accommodation packages at over 120 hotels in the Philippines on Agoda’s digital travel platform. Agoda has automated the booking process for those traveling to and within the Philippines, simplifying the search and booking process.
The Agoda Quarantine Packages in the Philippines comply with the requirements of the Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ) and only offer accommodations accredited by the Department of Tourism (DOT).
Travelers can choose from over 120 hotels via a dedicated booking platform (click here). The dedicated link allows travelers to search availability, room type, and pricing in real time.
According to the platform’s news release, Agoda Quarantine Package options include airport transfer and all meals of the day for the convenience of guests and to help limit unnecessary contact. Quarantine properties in Manila, Cebu, Angeles, Batangas and Cavite can be selected on the Agoda Quarantine Package landing page.

“Whether you are travelling back home or isolating to protect your family, we are able to offer an easy, convenient way to search and compare quarantine packages,” said Enric Casals, Agoda regional director of Southeast Asia and Oceania. “Using our technology, we are able make the quarantine experience easier for travelers.”
The digital booking platform for Agoda Quarantine Packages is now live, with more property options expected to join the program in the coming months. (Click here for the quarantine platform.)
Agoda launched similar platforms in Thailand in collaboration with the Thai government in 2020 with over 95 hotels across three cities, and in Hong Kong early this year.
For regular travelers, Agoda has introduced products like GoLocal, HygienePlus, and EasyCancel in 2020.
