Zeinab Harake and Bobby Ray Parks Jr.’s wedding cake measured five feet tall—and it was completed with a cake stand featuring 10 kilograms of glittering crystals. The entire thing took two weeks to make.
In a chat with PhilSTAR L!fe, the management of the couple's cake supplier, Honey Glazed Cakes, said that the bride and groom opted for an all-white fondant cake accentuated with a mix of white sugar flowers that were all crafted by hand and airbrushed with edible glitters for their June 1 wedding at the Crystal Palace of Aquila in the Sky, Tagaytay City. The special dessert had a carrot walnut flavor.
Their big-day cake recently made the rounds on social media with rumors that it cost P2 million. It's unclear where they started.
But in a statement, the cake maker noted that it was “not an extravagant 2 million creation,” adding that they make it a point to fulfill their clients' dreams “within a reasonable budget.”
“We urge the public to be cautious of misleading information regarding our services and pricing,” they continued.
Starting prices for customized cakes
Aside from Zeinab and Ray, Honey Glazed Cakes has customized eyecatching cakes for other celebrities like Vice Ganda and Diana Zubiri.
Their management told L!fe that their custom cakes start at P8,500.
Multi-tiered cakes for special occasions like weddings, meanwhile, start at a five-digit price, though it may go higher.
“The final price will depend on the design, size, and number of tiers,” they said.
