Cebu Pacific at 30: Keeping the sky open to dreamers

Published Mar 23, 2026 3:30 pm

Dreaming of traveling to new destinations is a favorite Filipino pastime. It's a fact reflected in the massive number of followers travel influencers on social media have, often reaching 100,000 to a million. People like to live vicariously through videos of those basking in the otherworldly beauty of El Nido, Palawan, exploring the mystical caves of Virac, Catanduanes, or enjoying a sunset dinner cruise in Sydney Harbour.

Regardless of social and economic backgrounds, travel is a dream for many Pinoys. And for 30 years now, Cebu Pacific has been making those dreams fly.

When it first flew into the aviation industry in 1996, Cebu Pacific added a new dimension to tourism with the aim of "making air travel more accessible for every Juan" through its "low fare, great value" strategy. Suddenly, travel was available to everyone, not just a privileged few. As it built an era of affordable flights, air travel became widely accessible, allowing more and more travel dreamers to put their wanderlust in motion without having to rip through their entire savings.

This year, as the airline celebrates three decades of service, it pays tribute to the families from across the Philippines, and the globe, who continue to come together for reunions; friends who obsessively synchronize days off so, together, they can hunt for adventures in new cities or countries; and first-time travelers who step out of their comfort zone to eagerly experience the rest of the Philippines and the world.

Over the past three decades, more than 250 million of these passengers have flown with Cebu Pacific. The airline currently has hubs in Manila, Cebu, Clark, Iloilo, and Davao, servicing travelers flying to and from 35 domestic and 26 international destinations.

Cebu Pacific's forthcoming 'Dreamer Plane,' featuring 'Dreamer Girl,' is a symbol of hope and possibility.

One of the ways every Juan's airline is marking its milestone anniversary is through the Dreamer Plane. Cebu Pacific tapped Cebu-based artistic duo Happy Garaje to design a special Airbus A321neo livery with a character called "Dreamer Girl," who is depicted flying across a blue sky and over a smiliarly blue ocean.

"She embodies the universal aspiration to travel and explore. Her presence symbolizes the dreams of passengers whom Cebu Pacific empowered to fly throughout its 30-year history," said Cebu Pacific in a statement.

Aside from, most probably, triggering more travel plans, Dreamer Plane visually represents the airline's commitment to democratizing air travel through affordability and accessibility.

Dreamer Girl is expected to fly across Philippine skies later this year, with the A321neo traversing Cebu Pacific's domestic and short-haul regional routes.

As the airline celebrates its 30th year of making travel dreams fly, the sky is no longer the limit, and has become a sea of possibility instead. Cebu Pacific will gladly continue to safeguard this privilege for millions of Filipinos. Dreams take flight here.
