It's confirmed: Mister Donut's Greenhills branch is really closing its doors on Jan. 31
A decades-old shop in Greenhills is saying goodbye.
The internet was set abuzz as there were talks of the 40-year-old Mister Donut branch at the Greenhills Shopping Center shutting down. The branch had become a popular among joggers and bikers in the San Juan area.
Mister Donut's management confirmed with PhilSTAR L!fe that it will really be the end of an era.
"Mister Donut's Greenhills branch will be closing its doors to customers on January 31 due to redevelopment in the area," they told L!fe.
Social media users on Facebook couldn't help but reminisce at the announcement, with some recalling how this spot would be their OG meeting place.
"This was a meeting place before cellphones [were] a thing," one user wrote.
"Nakakamiss yung nakaraang high school years ko na palagi kami kumakain diyan ng mga magulang ko," another said.
"Ang hirap tanggapin ng ganitong mga pagbabago, lalo na kung may sentimental value ang lugar. Sana maging maganda ang kapalit na bahagi ng Greenhills redevelopment para sa mga nagmamahal sa Mister Donut Greenhills," a Facebook user commented.
"This was our go-to place for our late-night study sessions during med school. I'm sad to see this place get shut down," added another.
Mister Donut has been in the Philippines for 40 years, and while the Greenhills store is closing, there are several other branches of the franchise in Metro Manila.
