Ciao! Motorino closes permanently in the Philippines after almost a decade
Sad news for pizza lovers. Motorino has shut down its doors in the Philippines.
The brick-oven style pizzeria that hails from New York announced via Facebook that it "served our last pizza" last December 31, 2023. Its website, motorinophilippines.com, is now "unavailable."
"Grateful for nearly a decade of serving ‘New York’s Best Pizza’ Neapolitan-style in Manila, we’ve reached the end of our journey, having served our last pizza on December 31, 2023," the restaurant said on New Year's Day.
"As of today, January 1, 2024, we close our doors with deep gratitude for your patronage. Grazie for being an integral part of our journey. Ciao!"
Motorino, founded in 2008, landed the coveted titles of "city's best" from the New York Times and "best new pizzeria" from Time Out New York.
It first opened in the Philippines in 2014 with a branch at Greenbelt 3 in Makati City. It opened branches in Podium, Estancia Mall, Ayala Malls Manila Bay, BGC, Salcedo Village, and Alabang Town Center.
If you're wondering where you could still try its pies, Motorino still has stores in New York, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, and Dubai.
