Tourism Promotions Board holds 10th Regional Travel Fair

Published Oct 24, 2022 1:30 pm

If you're looking for a sign to travel, this is it.

With the reopening of many of the country's popular tourist destinations, this is the perfect opportunity to rediscover the hidden gem that is the CALABARZON Region. Revenge travelers from all over the Philippines will get to do just that in the 10th Regional Travel Fair (RTF) of the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) from Oct. 29 to 30 in Ayala Malls Solenad III Activity Park in Nuvali, Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

The Regional Travel Fair is the only government-initiated travel fair that strategically goes around and conducts its events in different regions of the country. This makes it possible for RTF to always offer something new to all types of travelers, whether you’re a serial backpacker or someone who always goes on vacations with the entire family.

“What sets RTF apart from other travel fairs is that we’re bringing the destinations, the accommodations, and–most importantly–the discounts directly to our kababayans. It makes tourism accessible for all. This is especially important to me as I believe that no Filipino should be a stranger in our own country,” says TPB COO Maria Margarita Montemayor Nograles.

True to this, the TPB flagship program, which began in 2018, has played a vital role in helping the public get the best products and services amid the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. This included matching what the industry has to offer with innovative and elevated ways of delivering experiences to consumers. And leads from previous RTF offering, such as staging it in hybrid format, will be carried on this year. This includes the participation of three seller representatives from the Bicol Region: Smartflight Travel and Tours, The Marison Hotel, Travezia Tours and Travel.

For its 10th run, RTF is heading to the CALABARZON Region, which is known for its rich history and culture, up-and-coming eco-tourism destinations, one-of-a-kind delicacies, and pristine beaches. This gives travelers the opportunity to revisit their favorite vacation spots in Southern Tagalog and even discover new places to make fun and lasting memories.

Re-discover Quezon as it offers new and exciting activities for you to enjoy. From culture to adventure, there will always be a place in Quezon for every traveler.

Amazing deals from participating tour operators and travel agencies

What many look forward to in the 10th RTF are the many deals that participating tour operators, travel agencies, hotels, and airlines, such as Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines, have to offer. This makes it easier for frequent travelers and those who have been cooped up for quite some time to finally visit or revisit their favorite destinations at reduced costs.

For those who are thinking of discovering new destinations to go to, DOT Regional Offices and Local Government Units from CALABARZON will have their own booths where people can get comprehensive information on what unique attractions and activities each region has to offer.

All exhibitors joining are also offering huge discounts on tour packages, accommodation, and even airfare. And registered consumers stand a chance at winning one carry-on luggage and other freebies when they buy at least P3,000 worth of packages during the event.

Tourism seminar and business-to-business networking meetings

Aside from the trade fair, the 10th RTF will also host tourism seminars and networking opportunities featuring top leaders and personalities. Market trends and ideas affecting the immediate future of Philippine tourism will be on the agenda, ensuring partners and stakeholders are ready to face and thrive in the industry's ever-changing landscape.

The art of embroidery in Lumban dates back since the Spanish colonial period. Piña fabrics in Lumban features intricately embroidered rosettes and floral patterns.

An exclusive seminar workshop and half-day cross-learning tour for exhibitors from the Philippine Weaver’s Tourism and Trade Fair (PWTTF), as part of the Partnerships as Pathways and the “habi” banner programs, will also be staged as part of the RTF. Meanwhile, the exhibition of community weavers from Maragondon in Cavite and those from Mindanao–represented by Salinta-Monon Weaving Center (GAMABA Awardee Salinta Monon) from Davao Del Sur and Tagolwanen Weavers Association from Malaybalay, Bukidnon among others, and that of the embroiderers from the town of Lumban in Laguna are open to the public during the trade fair.

The 10th Regional Travel Fair is organized by the Tourism Promotions Board, in partnership with the Department of Tourism Regional Office IV-A CALABARZON as the host destination, and is co-presented by Ayala Malls Solenad.
