Pink burger, anyone?

Burger King has launched a limited edition Barbie-themed themed combo meal featuring a burger with a hot pink sauce to celebrate the release of the new Barbie movie. Sadly for fans in the Philippines, the pink burgers are only available in Brazil.

Burger King Brazil released the special BK Barbie Combo last July 12, which features a "Pink Burger" that comes with a "delicious smoky pink sauce"  topped with bacon and cheddar cheese along with "Ken's Potato," French fries in a special shell-shaped packaging.

For those with a sweet tooth, there's also a Barbie-themed drink and dessert in one. To complement the meal, diners can also order the "Barbie Donut Shake," a strawberry milkshake topped with a pink donut around the straw.

According to the fast food giant, the combo will be available for a limited time via dine-in, drive-thru or delivery in Brazil branches.

"Barbies from all over Brazil, check out this news that arrived straight from Barbie Land to our kingdom!," the company wrote on Twitter and Instagram. "It’s real, now you can come running to BK to try the BK Barbie Combo."

The limited edition Pink Burger and Barbie Shake has been met with mixed reactions from netizens. Responding to news about it on Twitter, some users described it as "sickening" and referenced the controversial "pink sauce" which went viral on TikTok. Others expressed excitement and called for the burger joint to make it available in other countries.

"omg i never wanted to go to brazil more," wrote one user.

"WE WANT IT IN AMERICA NOWWWW," said another.

The Barbie-themed Pink Burger isn't the only offering of the burger joint to cause a stir online. Last week, the Thai operator of the fast food chain introduced the “real cheeseburger,” a burger bun filled with 20 slices of American cheese, and no meat.

The upcoming Barbie film directed by Greta Gerwig starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling as Barbie and Ken, has been getting a lot of hype of late, with merchandise and promos around the world screaming the signature hot pink.

According to international news reports, the production team for the movie used so much pink paint for the sets of Barbie Land that it actually created an international shortage for pink paint.

After the initial controversy that hounded the movie, Barbie is set to premiere on Wednesday, July 19 in the Philippines without cuts and with a PG (Parental Guidance) rating by the Movie & Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB). The movie will also premiere in other Asian countries, including Taiwan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and South Korea this week.
