Boy enjoys 'jolly' meal, unaware that it's adobong sitaw

"My childhood was a lie," disillusioned adults say of their loved ones' fantastic stories during their salad days.

Will a boy from Aurora say the same thing and much more in the near future? His aunt just gave him a food pack from a popular fast food chain, except that the contents are, drum roll, lutong bahay.

In a viral Facebook post, Maricris Soriano Hungriano posted photos of his nephew JC beaming at the camera and clapping his hands, as he thinks he's about to have a burger steak meal.

But in reality, the boy's lunch includes adobong sitaw and a cup of rice.

"Darating ang panahon na malalaman mo din na walang adobong sitaw sa Jollibee," Hungriano wrote in her post on May 2. "Excited kumain, tuwang-tuwa, may papalakpak pa."

She also recalled JC telling her, "Yehey Jollibee sarap, thank you tita."

"pinagtripan pa nga ang bata ng tita," one user said in the comments section, to which Hungriano replied that JC supposedly doesn't like to eat, but a different matter altogether with the beloved brand.

"good way sa mga batang ayaw kumain ng gulay," another user wrote in the caption in sharing the post.

The post got over 45,000 shares to date.

In an interview with Pilipino Star Ngayon Digital, Hungriano said his nephew wasn't feeling well and had no appetite when she's already preparing lunch. She encouraged him to eat even just a few spoonfuls since he had to take medicine, but didn't budge.

"Nung nakita po niya na hawak ko 'yung box, sabi niya, 'Yehey Jollibee,' tapos palakpak na siya nang palak," she said, noting she had an old food pack she stored and cleaned.

She also clarified that JC isn't really choosy when it comes to food, but just so happened that he's under the weather that time.

In any case, JC appears to have been satisfied with the "Jollitaw" he had.

After her post has gone viral, Hungriano in another post on May 5 shared photos of JC finally having a "jolly" meal for take-out, even posing by the statue of the eponymous red bee.

"Salamat po sa mga nag sponsor. Happy na naman si Jollitwa," she said.

"Aba... dasurv ng batang makulit," one user said in the comments.

"Parang malungkot naman, iniisip nyia kung totoo na iyan," another user said.
