PH hotels, islands, and spas recognized in Travel + Leisure Awards 2025

The winners of Travel + Leisure Luxury Awards Asia Pacific 2025 are out, and the Philippines once again is spotlighted for its noteworthy hotels and islands.

The New York-based travel magazine listed down some of the best hotels, resorts, and spas in the Philippines as voted by their readers. Raffles Makati earned the top spot in the Best City Hotels category, with the magazine describing it as an "icon of understated elegance in the heart of the city."

It is followed by Shangri-La The Fort, Manila, Grand Hyatt Manila, Conrad Manila, and Fairmont Makati, respectively. Also mentioned were Hyatt Regency Manila, City of Dreams, Hotel Okura, Solaire Resort Manila, New World Makati Hotel, and The Peninsula Manila.

For the Best Beach, Island, and Upcountry Resorts category, Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu emerged as the top choice, praised for its "perfect balance between five-star sophistication and tropical charm."

On its heels were Shangri-La Boracay, El Nido Resorts Miniloc Island, Amanpulo in Palawan, and Discovery Coron. Other places that completed the top 10 are Nay Palad Hideaway in Siargao, El Nido Resorts Apulit Island, Amorita Resort Bohol, El Nido Resorts Pangulasian Island, and The Lind Boracay. 

But that's not all—the Philippines was also recognized for its exceptional hotel spas that go beyond massage menus and scented candles, with Chi, The Spa at Shangri-La Mactan being voted as the most favorite destination.

Chi, The Spa at Shangri-La Boracay, Nay Palad Hideaway Siargao, Conrad Spa at Conrad Manila, and Sagay Spa at Mövenpick Resort & Spa Boracay followed. Rounding off the list are Healing Sanctuary Spa at The Farm at San Benito, Aman Spa at Amanpulo, Mandala Spa & Resort Villas, Panari Spa at Lihim El Nido, and Le Spa Sofitel by Thalgo at Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila.

The travel magazine also looked into the country's best hotel pools. Shangri-La Boracay became the number one pick with its "beautiful multi-level pools that cater to all their guest profiles."

Other destinations in the top five are Hilton Manila, Edsa Shangri-La, Dusit Thani Manila, and Henann Regency Resort & Spa. Other hotel pools that were highlighted are from Plantation Bay Resort and Spa, Rizal Park Hotel, The Peninsula Manila, Marco Polo Ortigas Manila, and Vivere Hotel and Resorts.

Palawan and Siargao are also among the best islands to visit in the Asia-Pacific region, achieving fourth and tenth place, respectively. Bali in Indonesia, meanwhile, earned the top spot.

The nominees for this year's awards were selected by the T+L Southeast Asia team of editors and expert contributors across the region, and voting was open to anyone anywhere in the world.
