It feels good to be back

By ALTHEA LAUREN RICARDO Published Mar 18, 2022 5:00 pm

It’s been a while, McDo. We haven’t missed our usual Big Mac and fries, the chicken nuggets we sometimes crave, or the hot caramel sundae we always order last minute for dessert. There was always drive-thru and delivery that saw us through even the strictest lockdowns. What we have missed is having our favorite fix with our favorite people under your golden arches—calm and breezy, a happy smile everywhere we look. It took a while, but we’re finally back.

Of course, not everything is the same as it was before the pandemic. We’ve had to say goodbye to so many things in the last few years. Now, it’s all about establishing new ways to feel safe so we can go back to enjoying what we loved before we all masked up.

McDonald’s has always been top in safety, but it feels even safer now with M Safe practices in place. We can’t see everyone’s smiles just yet, but we are welcomed back by a happy, fully vaccinated crew, including a dedicated safety manager who makes sure all safety practices are in place. Are all surfaces disinfected? Check. Have all hands been sanitized in the last 30 minutes? Check. Everyone feeling good? Check!

Ordering food is also safer with cashless payment options and a cash tray provision for dine-in, take-out, and drive-thru payment. There’s no crowding at the counter because the crew quickly brings our food—fresh, hot, and safe—to our table after we order. And for take-out, there’s a dedicated claim counter.

There’s also innovation within the store premises. Because biking has enjoyed a surge in the last couple of years, many McDonald’s stores now have Bike & Dine spaces so that even those on two-wheelers can order food via the drive thru lane and enjoy a relaxed meal al fresco with having to worry about their bikes.

We’ve stayed away for far too long, McDo. You’ll be seeing us more often again at your stores, enjoying our favorite burgers and fries with our favorite people. And when we take off our masks, you can tell by our smiles that we’re thinking: I feel good because M Safe.
