Dingalan, Aurora has always been a popular tourist spot due to its beautiful waterfalls, caves, beaches, and more. However, before visitors can enjoy the tours being offered, they must first have an insurance plan prepared.

On its Facebook account, the Dingalan tourism office announced that the local government has passed a municipal ordinance requiring tourists to get insurance before exploring the town.

According to the provisions, the insurance requirement was passed "to provide financial assistance to tourists who would suffer disability and/or death while in the territorial jurisdiction of Dingalan."

The ordinance encompasses "all tourists and visitors and all accommodation establishments in Dingalan, Aurora."

The tourism office noted that you must avail your plan at any LGU-registered or accredited insurance provider or purveyor.

After which, visitors must present a copy of the police or receipt of the insurance coverage payment from the provider. Accommodation establishments, on the other hand, must show a memorandum of agreement with an insurance provider.

ravelers who do not follow the ordinance will not be allowed to tour the premises. Tourism establishments that violate the ordinance will be penalized with fines, suspension of their permits, or cancellation of their permits.

In the comments section, one social media user tried to clarify where to get their insurance policies.

"Kung no insurance, no tour policy, pwede sigurong sa iba na kami kumuha ng insurance. May P10 valid for one month na ang Cebuana Lhullier at P60 valid for one year ang Sun Life," one commenter wrote.

"Mabigat ata ang price implementation [nito], eh 'yung mga guests na dinadala ng organizers or travel agencies diyan mostly one time lang nasa Dingalan in a month or in a year," they added.

The tourism office answered, "Ang insurance po ay sa iba ninyo kukunin as long as Dingalan based or LGU registered. Maaari din po nating kausapin ang insurance company para mai-cater po ang inyong needs pagdating sa insurance. Hindi po kasi ito LGU provided."

If you're going on a trip soon, here’s why you should get travel insurance.
