Looking for a new spot with good food and good coffee?

Singapore’s Common Man Coffee Roasters has officially launched in the Philippines on Wednesday, Jan. 10, giving Filipino customers an “elevated cafe experience” through premium brunch options, specialty coffee, and cozy atmosphere you can enjoy with a friend or two.

Common Man's first Philippine branch is situated at the heart of Makati.

Among the stars of its all-day brunch menu are the Not Your Common Pancakes (P550)—wheat pancakes with caramelized bananas and walnut crumble, amped up with salted caramel sauce and berry coulis. This is perfect for those who have a sweet tooth and want to enjoy different textures in their food.

If you’re coming in hungry, go for the Common Man Full Breakfast (P750), which has two eggs, bacon, sausage, spinach, tomatoes, hash brown, portobello mushrooms, and house-made baked chorizo beans, served with artisanal sourdough. Note that the serving is huge and could get overwhelming, so you might want to share this with a companion.

The Cubanos Sandwich (P650) could be a good option for those who are into herby dishes. It’s made with rosemary focaccia, slow-cooked pork, shaved ham, aged cheddar, jalapeño, gherkins, mustard mayonnaise, and raisin chutney. Completing the offering are some herbed fries on the side.

For coffee, they have filter coffee with prices ranging from P190 to P220 as well as espresso coffee such as Nitro Honey Oat Latte (P250) and Flat White (P180/P200), among others.

Other menu items include salads, pizzas, burgers, and desserts. You can also have some booze like coffee negroni and 22 Martini (both priced at P495). The latter was named after its first store in Singapore, combining the goodness of vodka, espresso, hazelnut liqueur, and coconut sugar syrup altogether.

Common Man was established in Singapore in 2013 with the belief that great coffee should not be a privilege, but available for everyone to enjoy.

The opening of its first Philippine branch marks its third franchise in Asia, next to Singapore (now with six stores) and Malaysia (now with two stores). It’s located at The Restaurants in the Ayala Triangle Gardens in Makati.
