Francis Libiran: Couture & carpets, bespoke bedrooms & beyond
When designer Francis Libiran unveiled his 2026 Our Home collection, it was as if he widened the fashion runway to include furniture and furnishings. In fact, at one point in his show, Brazilian models, male and female, were in bed—and it’s not what you think. The beds and the bods were all models.
From an SB19 collab at the Smart Araneta Coliseum to the launch of his own home line in Our Home, Francis is set to be in the mold of Ralph Lauren, who started with menswear and has become a brand in fragrances and home essentials as well. Though no one person is quite like the other, Francis, who also has his line of fragrances, is becoming as versatile. As the Francis Libiran brand’s president and CEO Arsi Baltazar notes, this is the natural trajectory of Francis, an architect by profession.
What inspires Francis, whose expanded designer line brings his distinctive touch into even more spaces within the modern home?
“What truly inspires me is the constant evolution of Filipino creativity and collaboration. Working with artists from all over the world, and lately, with pop music superstars SB19, I love to partner with brands that reach different spaces—from fashion, entertainment to lifestyle. It pushes me to think beyond boundaries. I’m inspired by the idea that design can live anywhere, touch different audiences and still carry meaning, craftsmanship and heart,” says Francis, who also is a much sought-after bridal designer.
Why does Francis, who first started sketching in the back pages of his notebook when he was still in grade school, push his boundaries constantly?
“I do what I do because creating has always been at the core of my being. It is sacred to me. Every thought is a prayer. Creating has always been my way of telling stories—stories of identity, culture, and aspiration. Fashion and design allow me to translate emotion into form, and purpose into beauty. At the core of it, it is about honoring Filipino talent, celebrating individuality, and creating products that people can truly connect with,” says Francis, who was honored by the presence of his mother Rebecca Ramos Libiran at his Our Home show at the SM Megamall.
Mrs. Libiran says she has always been into crafts, and when she discovered Francis’ notebook filled with sketches, she encouraged his passion for design.
“When we would go into a store, Francis, even as a child, would right away spot the most creative item on display. He really has an eye for style,” says Mrs. Libiran, a devoted wife and mother who flew all the way from California to attend this new milestone in her son’s life. Of all her children, Francis is the only one in the Philippines.
The 2026 collection for Our Home includes an impressive array of bedframes, bed linen, curtains, carpets (stitched in Egypt!), sofas, and cushion covers. There is even a bespoke bed for fur babies!
Trained as an architect at the University of Santo Tomas and a draftsman in the early days of his career, Francis grounds his designs in structure, proportion, and spatial harmony—principles that seamlessly bridge his work in both fashion and interiors.
